Drunk Driving Accidents

Drunk Driving Accident Lawyer

Drunk drivers cause thousands of accidents every year, many of them fatal. Victims of drunk driver accidents and their families, however, have the ability to obtain compensation and justice for the wrongs done to them.

Amicus Legal Group is dedicated to helping accident victims obtain compensation for their losses and suffering. We are experienced, knowledgeable and have the resources needed to pursue these cases successfully.

Building Your Case

While it would be ideal to have your lawyer present at the accident scene documenting liability, there are some guidelines that anyone involved in an accident should follow, regardless of the circumstances:

  • Get Witness Information If Possible. The names, addresses, and phone numbers of all witnesses should be obtained. If the witness does not appear to be willing, be sure to note the make, model, and license plate number for their vehicle in case law enforcement will require their statement to establish liability.

  • Do Not Admit Fault At The Scene. Frequently a driver assumes that they are at fault when an accident occurs, but this is not always the case. Never admit fault to anyone until an investigation has been completed. If you admit fault and other factors may have contributed to the accident, the insurance company will attempt to minimize their insured’s liability based on your statement.

  • Seek Medical Treatment Immediately For Any Injury. Many individuals do not seek treatment immediately after an auto accident in the belief that a little soreness or pain can go away in a few days. With soft tissue injuries, any delay in treatment can compound the problem. Even minor stiffness or soreness should be checked out to ensure that no serious injury or damage has occurred as a result of the accident.

Small Cases Can Become Large Ones

Drunk driving accidents have unique aspects which may favor an injured plaintiff. While you may not have a claim against the bar who served drinks to the drunk driver, you still may pursue the driver’s insurance company and the driver personally.

Our attorneys know the best way to present your claim to ensure that you maximize recovery for your injuries and we will help guide you through the process each step of the way. If you have been involved in an accident, little details can have a tremendous impact on the outcome of your case – hiring one of our lawyers may be one of the smartest moves you can make.
